Let me reiterate that I believe most preppers are missing the point. It's not going to be an all out civil war as they imagine. The apocalypse will not be like the movies and so forth. I'm not saying it will be better than those dark visions, but you really need to stop and think about what is actually happening already, not try to imagine all the different things that could happen. Most of that dystopian fiction is designed to mislead in the first place.
But this is a really good time to make sure all those critical documents governments demand are organized and in a safe place. This is a good time to shred stuff you know you won't need, and don't want anyone else getting their hands on, like old tax forms. Last time I checked, 5 years is all you need to save that kind of stuff.
That's because government itself will not collapse, but the centralized federal system will come apart. State governments will survive, particularly the ones intending to pull away from the system. I am quite convinced that some of them have already discussed forming a regional "nation" to displace the current federal government. You will need some continuity of life markers for dealing with government demands, because the states will step up and take over the functions.
Again, look at what the system is doing right now. Extrapolate on that, not on your imagination. Our biggest problem in terms of survival is the Green policies used as a cover for the plan to impoverish us all and make us miserable as we die slowly from a collapsing economy. State governments that do their job can prevent that. This is what some of them are planning right now.
The threat of Zionism is more subtle, but it's there. Look for it to become much more highly leveraged as orthodoxy with politicized religious persecution. The churches that continue to cooperate will continue to be loved by the government, which will urge churches to enforce this orthodoxy. And if not the government directly, then it will come via all the partners of government, especially Big Tech.
The real problem with this is that both blue and red states have their own version of this particular oppression. Your state government can do the right thing about survival, and then turn around and sponsor a religious pogrom against those of us who aren't Zionists.
It's not a bad idea of have guns and ammo, but the threat isn't what you might expect. There will be a significant rise in petty property crime. To the degree that sort of thing is typical of your location, that's why you might need weapons. But a general revolt and fending off federal officers, etc. -- no. Instead, you'll have some states fiercely begging for that very thing, while the states that secede will pull all their people back from the federal system and leave it a mere shadow of its current incarnation.
We'll still have oppression even under a coalition of seceding states, but it will become a sort of right-wing version of oppression, guided by the neocons and Zionists. There is on escaping tribulation. Go ahead and prepare for bad times. Just make sure you don't get stars in your eyes about someone claiming a conservative revolt. They are still elitists and they still don't love you; they are just using you.
