Some of you need a hug.
This blog, now in its third implementation, was born from a drive to get people to ask the right questions about the tribulation we are facing. In particular, I felt called to reach out to other nonconformists like me. We are scattered and isolated; I wanted you to know that you weren't actually alone.
Occasionally I get emails that strike me as a cry for pastoral support. A few of my readers have mentioned a wish to meet in person, though no one has actually planned it. Travel is so expensive these days, and I doubt any of you are even in my state. It's not that I am unwilling, but it's not feasible without a lot more money than I can get my hands on.
So, for now, we are stuck with this continued isolation. At least a few of you still belong to a regular church somewhere. Good for you if you can stay on the Radix Fidem path and not get run-off. I have nowhere to go where I live, so I'm lonely, too. But given what I've heard from some of you privately, it's even harder on you.
My best estimate is that my audience is no more than 75 or so. Unless some of you are fabulously wealthy, forming a real-world community is not feasible. I doubt many of you would be willing to move, and I can confirm that the Lord wants me to stay where I am. Thus, the current gossamer thread of online connection is all the Lord provides.
Nor has this thing progressed to the point where a community would actually form. Most of us are still nonconformists, called to live in a way that isolates us, if only because no one will join us. The call to a nonconformist path precludes community for the most part. I suppose in a better world we would not have to waste so much time and resources on keeping ourselves separate from the herd. But that's not our world.
Don't hesitate to contact me; it's not a bother. I committed myself to pastoral care of His sheep early in my life, and my life isn't over yet. My regular email address is catacombrez@proton.me. If you sense a need for privacy, you can get a Proton Mail account for free, and any message you send to my Proton account never leaves their servers without encryption.
Keep in mind that it's already getting difficult. Major online services are cutting off those who are too anti-woke. Even banks have gotten into the act, closing the accounts of those who won't toe the line of ESG and DEI. I'm waiting for software to start enforcement of it.
I stand by my estimate that things will reach a critical stage before the end of 2024, and possibly well before that. Let's make wise use of the time we have. It can only get worse.
