Thanks for your patience, dear readers. I've been very busy the past few days. Lots of things in my life are changing, as I had been expecting for some time. They won't be meaningful to anyone but me, but they have been time-consuming. Meanwhile a couple of discussions came up.
I'm not interested in defending myself against charges of racism. I've recommended that everyone of every color be careful around folks with different cultural or ethnic backgrounds. By no means am I any kind of supremacist for any racial identity. The only reason it becomes pertinent to discuss race issues is because everyone else does. Old white men like me are the boogeyman of the day; you can't avoid hearing about it.
That's just the way things are right now, and nothing I might do is going to change it. Since I'm already officially evil, I might as well make the most of it.
But to reiterate, I've been careful to remind readers that there is nothing to gain by hostility towards anyone. We are not interested in changing the situation with the world, only changing ourselves through the Covenant. Aside from standard secular social concerns, we have a lot of work to do prepping for the coming tribulation. Our primary interest is manifesting our faith.
Yes, be wary of mixing ethnic identities in a faith community. The whole issue is whether people have advanced in faith enough to ditch their ethnic identity. I keep saying we have to do that as much as possible. It's not that you should keep other folks out, but that you should be wary, simply because it is so hard. In general, just do what comes natural under your convictions, and notice, not whether it will exclude others, but how it excludes them.
The emphasis of this ministry is nonconformists, folks who already have a strong sense of conviction and are willing to go it alone. It's no challenge to be affable with people, but some folks are very off-putting, and I'd rather leave them to it. But most of the time I'm respectful and friendly, to the point I try to make others laugh. I'll make room for them to be who they are, but I won't invite them very far into my world unless they respond in kind. Some ethnic groups balk at that kind of thing.
It's not enough that they may hold a conventional religious outlook, but that they are open to the different path I must follow. Ethnic Christian religion is particularly tough this way. If they have a different ethnic background, there is very little likelihood they will be comfortable with my faith. It's not possible for me to be "human generic" because there is no such thing. It's an illusion that way too many religious folks pursue, and it's very tiresome to keep stirring up friction over their assumptions about what a "real" Christian is like.
And there's no denying that the nonconformist path is very much an ethnic habit in the first place. Anyone from a northern European background with a strong sense of calling will quite often be a loner; that's mostly peculiar to us.
My only recommendation is that you get used to the situation as it really is, not the way so many wish it was.
The other issue is the collapse of womanhood in the West. I doubt that's news to anyone who reads this blog, but there have been some really strong statements of it lately across the Net. From what I read, the vast majority of American women are totally useless if you feel the urge to get married. Sorry guys, but I've been warning for years that this is a really bad time to get married, especially here in America.
If you believe the Lord wants you to pursue marriage, you can't afford to pay attention to whether a woman is conventionally attractive to you. You must keep your eye on moral qualities only. That way you won't get your hopes up for nothing. Most American women will be able play you like an instrument to get what they want, and then tear your heart out when they are finished. This is how they are trained across the board, and church girls are the worst.
