Evil Times

14 August 2023

We know that we live in evil times. It's not a question of low expectations in general, but the knowledge that spirits have been loosed upon America and tribulation will increase. Once you get used to that, little surprises you.

There's an awful lot of silly sites out there trying to make money off the chaos. The ones that people keep asking me to look at appear to fall into two groups. The first is the collection of confused aggregators sharing just about anything that sounds the least bit plausible, the conspiracy vendors. For the most part, they are true believers. The second is a very sinister group that doesn't care about anything but the money they can make by pretending to believe. It can take some time and effort to decide whom you should trust. The former will sometimes share useful stuff, so you keep an eye on their output. The latter only tell the truth when it pays, and they typically mix in with the facts nonsense that they know is nonsense.

Another factor is the wild Christian believism. Again, there are true believers who are simply confused about what the Bible teaches, suckers for American Christian religion. There are also those who aren't likely to believe in Christ at all but use the American brand of Christian religion to cynically sell their nonsense because that's where the money is. Sometimes you might still want to see what they blather about just for the sake of entertainment. If you are genuinely philosophical about such things, inspect the crap like you do with horses; it can be very informative of just what's going on.

All I can offer is my opinion on the matter. This is not a laundry list; at any given time, one or another site may change with the money flow from sponsors, or simply chase a particular audience as general sentiment drifts. Thus, if you ask me a month from now, the answers might vary just a little.

Sites like Lew Rockwell are consistent; you know it's a strong libertarian bias. You'll see lots of solid, conservative Catholicism, and somewhat less from the evangelical side. There is one very frequent Jewish writer who seems to favor genuine libertarian ideology yet tends to deny that Jews are involved in any conspiracy to rule the world. I suggest that, if you like some of the authors featured there, see if there are links to the author's own site(s).

And then there's nutcases like Dan Quayle. I'm not linking to his site; if you've seen it, you know what I mean. If not, you aren't missing anything. I see no reason to imagine that he holds any genuine Christian belief (zero discernment), but pushes it very hard because that's his audience. There's a whole raft of output that falls into the same category, where the mouthpiece claims some Christian religion, but then demonstrates very little faith in their personal life. You can find leaks of their personal sins quite often when you search their names. Meanwhile, their sites are so loaded with preposterous ads that you are lucky you can read any content at all.

Another angle for this sort of consideration is the trending stories that show up in multiple sources. For example, among the noisiest alternative medicine voices, quite a few have complained of threats to their lives. Some claim to have been poisoned or threatened in other ways. There are some trends at work there, but I'll leave it to you to decide; you should notice what kind of message has gotten them this kind of harassment.

That same story linked in the previous paragraph also discusses various buried investigations into voting fraud. Nobody should be surprised by stories of the most egregious violations in American elections. I'm hardly a Trump fan, but he was by far the peoples' preference. That was a stolen election, and the opposition knows it.

The US is now more Byzantine than the Soviets were. We've got secret police with free license to murder and destroy. A significant portion of what appears petty crime is actually espionage against the American people. You cannot escape surveillance if they want to watch you. This is the kind of thing we face here in the US.

You should seriously doubt most of what you see and hear. The one thing you know you can trust is your election and your convictions. The Covenant never fails.
