I don't like fear porn, so I'm going to translate the latest threat into the language of Christian Mysticism.

We should never be surprised at the long term trend toward isolating each of us so that the biggest thing in our lives is the government. It's the old Tower of Babel scam again. It isn't going to work, but God's patience seems to be quite long from our frame of reference, so we need to plan for bad times until He moves to take it down.

We have seen in the past that those who believe they ought to rule the world have worked incrementally. One of their favorite tricks is to "war game" scenarios to establish procedures before they spring a surprise on us. Neither they nor their lackeys are very competent, so it takes a lot of work to prepare for oppression. Thus, we heard tales of the COVID scenario was gamed at some big conference, then declared a pandemic a year later.

The problem is that they've also gamed a few other scenarios that never turned out. Thus, we cannot be sure just which of their tabletop war games is going to become reality. All we know is that they would very much like for them to do so. However, since they lack any scintilla of advanced wisdom about such things, they have to keep throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks.

One of the trends I've been watching is various attempts to rein in the Internet. Part of what has hindered their efforts up to now is the rather wide open communications on the Net. The whole idea was to create a resilient means of government communications, but they had to use big private corporations to make anything of it. And those corporations saw the profit potential and opened it up to all kinds of businesses to use as a tool. When people saw what was possible, they insisted on investing in the equipment to use it privately. I was around to watch this all happen.

So, the market responded to consumer demand and spending, and now electronic communications is easily the biggest sector of the global economy. The powers that be have had to play catch-up in trying to put controls in place. This is actually far worse for them than the invention of the printing press and the typewriter. The explosion in cellphone technology just followed that same pattern. Then again, cellphones are actually quite different from computers on the Net. The cellphone has absorbed consumer demand by providing just enough to distract them, while taking away a lot of freedom.

I'm sure someone saw it coming, but I'm not sure we can say any human agency purposely steered things in the direction of isolating humans the way cellphones have. The current generation really sucks at meaningful conversation. They are by far the most vulnerable segment of humanity to ever live, in terms of how easily the government and allies in the technology business can take over their whole lives. Virtually everything we do now requires a cellphone. Even the homeless seem to get their hands on functional devices and some access to services.

Side note -- How many of you realize that the vast majority of the younger generations have zero knowledge of cursive penmanship. They can't even read it. Cursive writing will disappear in just a few decades.

Now think about this: The latest tabletop war game that we are aware of has to do with the Internet. The reports are sketchy, and I'm not going to bury you with obscure links to sources that are difficult to follow. This link is a fair summary, but it's definitely fear-porn writing. Still, it is relatively accurate in terms of details. The picture that forms is that we should expect a false-flag massive cyber-attack on Net-based banking. Given what we've seen, this will serve as a plausible excuse to bring the Net fully under government control. The schedule suggests it will happen in the next calendar year.

But it's two birds with one stone, because it will also bring massive restrictions on banking not yet in place. There is good reason to believe all physical currency will be collected and the only thing we'll have is digital -- the dreaded CBDC (central bank digital currency). Further, the whole thing could be the justification for confiscation of private electronic devices on the grounds of national security. You'll be allowed only the equipment they already control, like cellphones and some tablets. You'll need a permit for a general purpose computer. I've seen that coming for a long time.

Next, think about where the current AI trends are going. It's not that AI can actually "think", but it can scan and process massive amounts of data better than humans. It already notices things human miss. That's the true value of AI. Now think about how AI can be turned against us all.

One of the points that stands out in that linked article is the suggestion that you download and print stuff you really want to keep. I've been printing off graphics of biblical archaeology, for example, and keeping them in a three-ring binder -- maps, aerial shots of critic sites, images of artifacts, etc. I don't need an archive of everything (I don't have room), only the stuff that interests me. The point is that a paper copy of really important stuff is probably the only way you'll keep much of anything now so easily accessible on the Net.

Stop for a moment and consider how AI will completely take over the virtual realm. The actors' strike? Replace them with AI-generated images of more perfect virtual actors, people who are even more visually attractive. It can all be done on a supercomputer and no need for anything more than simple background filming with a small crew and some camera drones. Get a big enough library of real terrain shots in various weather conditions and you can just pull it up from stored data. Have you seen videos made from game engines?

Now, does it occur to you that many "news videos" are already being ginned up that way? How real is "real"? China has been using AI news anchors for a long time. You don't need to put up with real humans and all their flaws, just buy or rent an AI robot.

The task before us is not to panic, but prepare. The only thing that can stop all of this is a global disaster that takes down civilization. That will come, likely sometime in the 2040s. Until then, our task is to keep the message alive. Not just as presentation materials, but alive in our souls. We have to become the message. It's our duty to Christ to be ready for all of this evil, plus a lot that we cannot predict.

You know it's coming, and we cannot stop it. Face it with aplomb. Get your mourning out of the way, because His glory is the only reason we keep on living.
