It is not in our hands to stop Israel from bombing civilians in Gaza. It is not in our hands to stop the politicians from loving Israel and insisting that all the money available, and all the money stolen from our future, be sent there to pay for more bombing.
Nor is it in our hands to stop the US government from sending troops and equipment into a war with Iran. We do not have the power to prevent a selective service from being reactivated. We might be able to stop press gangs if it comes down to that, but I feel quite certain things will fall apart before that kind of thing is instituted.
I have no doubt that the majority of the voters in the US are against our involvement over there. It's not a question of loving versus hating Israel; it's the question of people using our government in trying to rule the world. The majority of the people living in the US don't want any more senseless wars. But the problem is that voters have this wild mythology about what they can accomplish, and they refuse to organize to do the things they could. Even if someone tried to organize them, he would be put in prison. No one with access to any levers of power is on our side on this issue. We are ruled by foreigners.
The US is virtually guaranteed to go to war; the only question is when and how. Who will they target first? Once it starts, the dominoes will fall. Someone is going to hit back, and at some point the US will begin to lose. We do not have the means to winning this war.
The only way for this to stop is if you can convince certain parties to refuse to cooperate with the war policy. Don't count on state governments to do that. Everyone loves Israel. Protests that threaten to get big enough to do any good will reap violent reprisals. The rulers are watching us very closely. It is almost certain that we shall have martial law, and the conservative majority will support it this time.
You can pray that the Lord might intervene. It's not a question of whether He could, but whether He would. He might do so, though I rather doubt it. That doesn't make it a mistake to ask. I will pray for His mercy because it's the right thing to do. But, given that God Himself destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah without mercy, it might be a good idea to seek understanding as to why He might let a lot of folks in Gaza die right now. I've already shot down the mythology of childhood innocence, so that is not an issue, and will not boost your prayers for mercy.
The only thing that matters is His glory.
By the way, there is a high probability that the IDF will get bogged down and fail to take Gaza. This is not the IDF that won the 6-Day War, and the Palestinians in Gaza are not the ones who lost that war. Things are different now. And the US military isn't what it once was, either. The alliances lining up on each side are not at all the ones who fought wars in the past. Things have changed and it's going to be a stinking mess with no clear winners.
The Ukrainians have already lost their war; it's just a matter of time before they acknowledge it, or lose every last soldier they have. It's just a big graveyard now. An awful lot of Ukies are deserting their positions and joining the Russian Army. The Russians have learned and gained a great deal of experience for themselves, their tactics and weapons. If they pivot to face NATO, the slaughter of the latter will be almost as easy as the Ukrainians. NATO has nothing left to fight with.
Once again: Welcome to the apocalypse.
