In his short volume Jewish History, Jewish Religion: the Weight of Three Thousand Years (hereafter abbreviated as JHJR), Israel Shahak dares to criticize his own country and people. He does this from a strong secular position, adhering more to a liberal western view of rights and justice. He wrote as a professor at an Israeli university.
He begins by noting that his political position is explicitly illegal, in that any party espousing it is by law not allowed to register or run for elections. He goes on to lay out the issues of Jewish identity and the apartheid system that favors those who are considered "Jewish" under Israeli law. The discrimination is quite harsh and pervasive in the laws. The laws are designed to increase the Jewish population and reduce the number of Gentiles in the land.
Any other country using any other religious/ethnic identity like that would be loudly condemned by the same Jewish leadership as "antisemitic". He flatly calls it hypocrisy. The state has an official policy of reclaiming all lands, not only granted in the Bible, but a far larger area based on inflated claims from Talmudic traditions. From page 11 in my copy:
A number of discrepant versions of Biblical borders of the Land of Israel, which rabbinical authorities interpret as ideally belonging to the Jewish state, are in circulation. The most far-reaching among them include the following areas within these borders: in the south, all of Sinai and a part of northern Egypt up to the environs of Cairo; in the east, all of Jordan and a large chunk of Saudi Arabia, all of Kuwait and a part of Iraq south of the Euphrates; in the north, all of Lebanon and all of Syria together with a huge part of Turkey (up to lake Van); and in the west, Cyprus.
However, they publicly admit to claiming only the undefined "Biblical borders". Shahak believes that Jewish chauvinism has long outstripped the threat of antisemitism. Nonetheless, they can only be fought simultaneously by reason. The drive for a Jewish Utopia knows no bounds.
Classical Judaism was aimed at inculcating an overwhelming mental habit of constantly deferring back to the rabbinate before even daring to make any move. It sought the abolition of independent individual initiative of any kind. This aim has stood into modern times under both Jewish Orthodoxy and Zionism. In Shahak's mind, it's a choice of either this closed society, or some kind of liberal western open society.
He recounts a bit of history in which, up to about 1780, Jews were a distinctly closed society. They were thoroughly insulated from Gentile society everywhere they lived, typically having no concept of the larger world. At the point when Jews were first granted some legal equality in some jurisdictions after that year, it destroyed the internal system of power in Jewish communities by bringing Jewish commoners under Gentile governments.
It's often hidden from Gentiles that Jews up to that point had openly taught that Gentiles were literally children of Satan. Their mystical stories said that Satan had sneaked into Heaven and violated some female portion of the godhead, and thus gave birth to Gentiles. But this was all shattered by the rise of legal equality and freedoms Jews at large gained under the new secular Gentile states.
Thus, there came a period in history when the term "Jew" was ambiguous. It could refer to someone simply of Jewish birth but highly liberated by secularism, or it could refer to its original meaning of someone deeply wedded to orthodox Jewish totalitarian structures. Zionism today is a reactionary movement designed to restore that totalitarian control over Jews only, to force them to separate from western society. To Shahak, this is just demonic.
He waxes eloquent about how the exposure to western Aristotelian epistemology -- which he calls "universal" -- was the flavor of Christianity in Europe. With Jews converting to that Christianity during the 13th Century, suddenly Christians became aware of just how ugly Jewish anti-Christianity could be. Gentiles had previously no idea what was in the Talmud. It became a major interest in academic debate in European universities at that time.
When Christian scholarship became more Aristotelian during the Reformation and Counter Reformation, there was also a rise in attacks on the Talmud. This resulted in the keeping two sets of Talmudic libraries. The real one remained hidden, typically in difficult to read Hebrew, while the translated versions were much more tame, with anti-Gentile and anti-Christian passages edited out. In particular, code-words were substituted for "Gentile" and "Christian" to make it sound less offensive.
This created quite a challenge because fewer and fewer Jews today know Hebrew, and the Talmudic library must be translated for them, but then anyone could read it. This lead to the publication of separate volumes of supplements kept hidden with all the juicy Gentile hatred. At the very least, it created a form of schizophrenia among Jewish activists trying to destroy American culture. They publicly promoted things for America that they hated privately for themselves.
Think about the ADL when you grasp this. Indeed, think about all the very public Jewish figures lying about their secret contempt for us. Today, Christians often feel compelled to compensate for the Holocaust by joining in telling these lies.

I didn't know about the two Talmudic library versions. Interesting.
