How do I explain that it cannot be explained?
To be honest, most of my blather is an attempt to get you to ditch blather itself. Much of what I've written since day one has been deconstructing the defenses in our minds that keep us from drawing near to our Lord. If He's not inside of you, then you haven't found Him. You must seek the God whose Presence has invaded your soul.
That command -- "be still and know that I am God" -- comes in a context and tradition that denies the usefulness of human effort. It's Psalm 46, and the whole thing is aimed at provoking the listener to stop thinking, planning and processing. Just cease striving and know that God is able. Trust Him; rest in Him. The whole psalm should echo with silencing the flesh so the Spirit can fill all.
Empty yourself and let Him reign.
