It's been awhile since I've used this method for posting, so there might be a few kinks to work out.
I need to clarify a something. It's not as if I imagine this way of doing things will prevent outright government censorship by policy. Rather, this compels officials to take direct action. What we do by ditching software like WordPress is to remove the half-measures often called "dirty tricks". The government won't be able to rely so much on activists and faceless agents to hack into the software and cause trouble -- not impossible, just harder.
The primary reason they might want to do so is that it's more convenient for those officials. The readership here is seldom more than 50 hits per day. The only reason they care at all is that I openly defy political censorship in the first place. Using content management software (CMS) like WordPress makes it easier for someone to hack because it's so large and complicated, and it's riddled with security holes.
Removing a CMS package takes away a fat layer that serves only to make things more convenient to use. I'll be working a little harder, but I'm reducing the attack surface, making my blog a little harder to hit. At the same time, I'm also requiring the use of more expensive ammunition. This won't be easy to shoot down. For that reason, it should extend the opportunity to minister for a longer time.
Of course, there is something darker lurking in the background of WordPress. I'm hardly an insider who knows the internal politics, but there is a lot of brouhaha going on right now with the people running the WordPress project and the company that controls it. It doesn't matter what the bigshots think they are doing; the Devil is using them to inflame the situation and increase chaos. I don't need it.
As promised, I plan to be a big PITA until they act to stop me. I'll be calling out the lies and oppression, particularly in terms of biblical moral values.
