This is another one of those covenant observations of what would bless non-covenant folks: If our rulers take us to war, it is tantamount to making war on us. We may never get to know just who made the crucial decision, but it will be someone who hates us and wants us all dead.
Despite the madness infesting the Oval Office, there is a distinct lack of enthusiasm in the military as a whole for going to war against Iran. Someone up there knows the facts. Do you realize that Iran's population is more than one-quarter the size of the US? That's nearly 100 million people. It's one of the biggest countries in that part of the world. And that population is like the US in one thing: very middle-class heavy. They aren't poor. And their military is roughly equivalent to that of Turkey (i.e., huge), and not entirely centralized. Taking the war to them on their own turf is not a small task. If they are not crushed entirely in the first few hours of warfare, they will hit back with an awful lot of force.
Thus, our government as a whole recognizes that attacking Iran is not in our national interest. Yet, our country's foreign policy is not under our control. It's controlled by the government of Israel trying desperately to drag us into a fight with Iran. All those billions we give that little country, without which they would be wiped off the map, and they govern us.
Granted, awareness of that is not easy to share. But there is one thing we might be able to get across: It is utterly stupid to go to war against Iran. Anyone promoting that idea is our enemy. If war happens, it is tantamount to war against the citizens of the US.
