People keep wanting to discuss with me the political situation in the US and even around the world. Despite how often I keep expressing my cynicism about human politics, they keep trying to get me to join in their enthusiasm for this or that activity.
I don't deny that there are movements at work; I deny that they matter. In particular, I deny that God is doing anything that will solve human political problems. It's not that He cannot do anything. Rather, He has said quite clearly that He will not. His involvement is more like referee keeping the rules in a game played above the human level. Humans are the object, not the subject of the events in the Unseen Realm.
Yes, God's revelation is loaded with guidance in how humans should do politics. It's called "the Covenant". He made it clear from the start that as long as we don't follow the Covenant, there is no hope for lasting good in human political activity. He will not bless anything humans do outside of the Covenant.
And Trump is not a covenant man by any stretch of the imagination. The US has never been within sight of the Covenant in the first place; it won't get there as long as the current system of government exists. Neither the Constitution in theory, nor any government activity in reality, have even approached the right answer, ever. From day one, everyone involved in American government have flatly rejected the Covenant. You might imagine there will be some relief from certain abuses as Trump's administration comes online, but God is not in it. God Himself says that.
And if God is not involved, guess who is running the show? So, while I can agree that certain specific actions can bring a limited amount of human relief in specific cases, nobody involved is planning on turning to the Covenant. And as long as the Covenant is not involved, there cannot be any good government. It's all just theater aimed at keeping us from walking in Christ and harvesting the blessings of God's promises.
Whether you like it or not, we must confess the judgment of Scripture: Trump is not walking in the Covenant, so he's serving Satan. Saying so does not benefit the Democrats, because they are simply competing in serving the same lord. Our political parties are just two wings on the same vulture.
I'm not even permitted to pray for the prosperity of America as long as she rejects the Covenant. I can pray only for those who openly confess to walk in the Covenant and reject the worldly system of human government. Meanwhile, I pray that more people will come to the Covenant, knowing that it means denouncing America.
More to the point, God commands that we play along with whatever human government Satan and his allies come up with because He has delivered it into their hands. We have zero input on that. All we can do is stand up for the revelation of God in the Covenant. I'm sure there are things a Trump administration will do that brings specific relief on this or that problem, but only because that's how Satan suckers humans into staying away from the Covenant. In the end, America will still be destroyed. There is nothing any human or group of humans can do to prevent that.
The only reason to pay attention to human politics is so that you will know what's coming and prepare accordingly. What do your convictions require of you in response to the maneuvering of the Devil and his friends driving their human lackeys? The whole point of prophetic warnings is not to stir up activism, but so you'll reflect on your own covenant standing and pray for guidance.
Critical observation: Human intellect is inherently fallen. Men will try to discern ways to improve the situation by their own power. However, the Unseen Realm has the final authority in deceiving humans when they lack covenant covering. Thus, any contention that some small policy change will at least help a little is nonsense. Every human thought is inherently self-destructive until you are under the Covenant. All is vanity and striving after the wind until you move under divine covering. You cannot think clearly about any contextual condition without a personal and constant interaction with the Holy Spirit. Humans cannot on their own grasp anything that matters.
And even with the Holy Spirit, your conscious awareness cannot properly grasp the meaning of the guidance without a proper Hebraic mindset. That is the "language" of the Holy Spirit, the "language" of the heart.
